Dreamhack with Nordrassil Radio and Total Biscuit

As you know, we'll be heading to Sweden in a bit more than a week to attend Dreamhack. This summer, we'll be of course meeting people at the event, enjoying the warm weather (inside) and of course raiding at Asus + SteelSeries booth. This time we are honored to have Nordrassil Radio and Cynical Brit with us at the event doing coverage and of course, commentating our live raid.

I decided to contact Morfar and Total Biscuit in advance and have a small chat with them about the upcoming event.

Read more about the event from Nordrassil Radio's site.

Hi Morfar, please introduce yourself to our readers.

Hi I'm Morfar, I don't really want to be called with my real name so only Morfar is fine for me. I'm 26 years old guy from Sweden, and hosting web radios has always been my passion and I've now done it for 11 years. I'm actually losing money every month because of it, but I don't let it bother me.

Cutting straight to the point, we'll be meeting at Dreamhack in a bit more than a week, have you been to Dreamhack before?

Hey, I'm oldschool Dreamhack! I'm really loving it and I've been there several times. The best thing about the whole event is that I think it keeps on getting better and better each year. And this summer will of course be special, since we'll rock the place!

How did you end up coming this year?

I won't go into details (at least that deeply), but we meant to go to Dreamhack winter 2010 together with Total Biscuit last year, but stuff got into way. Money stuff mainly. We really hope it won't be a problem this year tho, we have Total Biscuit with us and he has some awesome connections and we trust we can make the event awesome from our part and find the necessary funds in time.

What will you be doing there and what are your expectations?

What is not my expectations is my question! I think it will be most epic stuff ever ever! We'll start the show early on Saturday and keep it going 24/7 untill Monday. We'll cover the whole event, inviting high profile people to interviews and making a 2 hour show with Total Biscuit. Some of the special quests are still a secret, and we'll announce the names a few days before Dreamhack, so stay tuned for that.

You'll be there when Paragon raids, have you seen their live raid or met the guys from Paragon before?

I've seen many live raids, and what comes first to mind is Blizzcon's stream last year. You guys know I love you, I try to watch all the kill videos etc. Last Dreamhack winter I met a few guys from Paragon and said "Minä rakastan sinua" to them (which means "I love you"). Too bad they weren't that talkative.

Do you think they'll wipe during the live raid, and if they do, what happens?

I really hope they will, it will be entertaining! I bet Total Biscuit will love it as well, as his commentating the raid. I believe they'll succeed in the end tho, but I really hope there will be at least one failure!

Anything else you'd like to add?

Yeah, we are lacking some funding for the equipment we need. We have everything sorted out for the radio broadcasts, but we'd also love to get some live footage with a quality camera. We are planning on uploading at least 100 videos from the event to our Youtube channel, and you know how much quality equipment does to the image quality etc. With the camera we'd of course do our interviews with Paragon and Cynical Brit, but also with random people. We are planning on waking people up from their sleep and ask "how is it going?!!" in the middle of the night. We really want to show the people outside Dreamhack how the event is going and how fun we are having, so we appreciate all the money we can get. Even if you can give us 1 euro, it's great and helps us a lot.

Also, a big thanks to SteelSeries and Asus for inviting us to their booth, I'm really looking forward to cooperating with you at Dreamhack

Thanks for answering our questions, see you at Dreamhack Morfar.

Needless to say, let's get these guys the camera they need to make the event even more awesome to everyone. So if you have anything extra, head to their site and donate, every euro helps.

Hi Mr. Cynical Brit, please introduce yourself to our readers.

Hello everybody, I'm John Bain and in the gaming world I'm known as Total Biscuit, a pro gaming commentator. I'm uploading my shows to my Youtube channel, and they have been quite popular as at the moment they have over 112 million views. I've also done this quite long, my show Blue Plz is the longest running wow podcast in the world.

Cutting straight to the point, we'll be meeting at Dreamhack in a bit more than a week, have you been to Dreamhack before?

Actually I haven't. We were plannning on going last year but eventually it didn't work out, and I'm really looking forward to the event this summer.

How did you end up coming this year?

We talked about this last year with Nordrassil Radio, and this year we'll be going together. Also, I was earlier asked if could do some Starcraft 2 casting and as I prepared to do it from home I realized I can actually travel there. I was also contacted about Paragon's live raid and asked if I could commentate it.

What will you be doing there and what are your expectations?

I'm expecting to be exremely busy during the event. Dreamhack will have some of the world's best Starcraft 2 players competing in the tournament, and I know the other 2 casters, day9 and Apollo will be casting the games for 10-12 hours per day. I'm expecting to match those numbers myself as well.

In addition to a tight schedule, I'm of course expecting to meet cool people, especially my Swedish listeners. It'll be great to speak to other gamers, fans and meet up with people overall.

You'll be there when Paragon raids, have you seen their live raid or met the guys from Paragon before?

I've spoken with some people from Paragon people before, but I've never seen them before. They are actually one of the very few guilds I haven't interviewed yet (and I'v interviewed pretty much all the important people and guilds that are out there during the years) so I'm really looking forward to meet them and have a chat with them.

Do you think they'll wipe during the live raid, and if they do, what happens?

If they'll be raiding t11 they shouldn't wipe to be honest. Paragon has gotten most of the world firsts of the tier, and that being said they should be able to clear the content easilly. We'll see tho, since this content  requires a lot of skill, and there really isn't anything wrong with wipeing. It might be actually cool to see them wipe, just to add a little drama.

Anything else you'd like to add?

Thanks to Paragon for having me commentating their raid. I'd also like to say thanks to my fans for supporting me, even when I quit after seeing the changes Blizzard made to the game before 4.2. I'm hoping to meet many people during the event, and of course have a good time. I'm looking forward to see everyone there!

Thanks for answering our questions, see you at Dreamhack Mr. Biscuit.
