Cataclysm Beta: Cho'gall raid testing


The raid testing for Cho'gall started on Thursday all of a sudden, but we were kind of expecting for it despite no announcement being made. We got a raid group together pretty quick and went to town on it. Not only does Cho'gall have the ability to corrupt players and turn them into monstrosities, he's also able to cast raid-wide mass disconnects and cause crashes. We gave up after knowing the basics of the fight and occasionally spending 15+ minutes after a wipe getting everyone back inside. The instances were quite bugged out, but it's understandable since the game is still in beta testing.

 

 

Not one for leaving bosses undefeated, we went back on Saturday to try to figure out some potential hard mode tactics and tried to get the kill.

Really cool fight though, with yet another new boss-specific resource mechanic. The corruption quickly snowballs completely out of control with just a couple of mistakes. Pretty interesting that this is still a normal mode encounter.
